Kristofer J. Petersen-Overton
Kristofer Petersen-Overton works at the intersection of political theory, atrocity studies, and questions of structural injustice. His writing has appeared in The Journal of Social Philosophy, Cultural Critique, Social Text, Contemporary Political Theory, The Guardian, The Brooklyn Rail, and other publications. He is currently writing a book on the concept of atrocity in Western political thought.
Petersen-Overton has worked with the Palestinian Center for Human Rights in Gaza and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in London. He co-authored Karl Marx and the League of the Just, a role-playing game for college classrooms, and co-translated LEX ICON by Salette Tavares (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2024). He is currently translating essays on colonialism by Eduardo Lourenço.
He serves as an editor at Sputnik & Fizzle, a small press publishing work by artists, scholars, and activists. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the CUNY Graduate Center.
